From the official Cluetopia introduction to Dr Duplicate’s Clonemageddon:

The evil Dr Duplicate has created a machine capable of creating exact clones of human beings. He plans to use this machine to create an army of clones in his image and take over the world! Can you and your team of experts stop him before the Clonemageddon?

What did we think of Dr Duplicate’s Clonemageddon?

Cluetopia has created a really enjoyable escape room with some fun, unique puzzles. This game was definitely a great way to spend Christmas Eve evening together as family.

The lab is a multi-room affair and there is plenty of space (unless you are playing as a team of eight – that might be quite cramped).

Our games master, Pascal, did a great job taking time to lay out the scenario and ensuring we knew what to do once the clock started. For once the introduction did not feel rushed or bored.

The game is linear and straightforward with a well-structured story to keep the action moving. We like the one-and-done puzzle structure – you don’t have to remember what has gone before, simply focus on the puzzle at hand.

Some of the puzzles are quite tricky and require very good communication and coordination between team members. Particularly when certain tasks have to be completed in different rooms simultaneously.

Although we feel two players could have completed the room, having three of us made solving some of the more complex, multi-stage puzzles easier.

Any criticisms?

Not really. The only issue was that one of the many doors had popped open by accident – Pascal had to step in and reset the puzzle. A minor complaint at most.

Note: This game used to be located at the Cluetopia Harwich venue under the name Dr Duplicate’s Evil Lab. If you have played the earlier version, you’ll want to try one of Cluetopia Ipswich’s other rooms instead.
